The Adonidia—also known as the Christmas Palm—is one of our top-selling varieties. We typically carry these palms with 2 or 3 trunks, each producing a beautiful, spreading canopy that delivers a lush, tropical appearance.
(Note: larger field-grown sizes may require heavy equipment for moving and installation.)
Care Instructions
This is one of the more tropical palms we offer, thriving best in temperatures above 60°F.
Adonidias require normal watering; however, palms exposed to higher winds will need additional water to stay healthy. Each trunk grows from the center, where the newest frond emerges. The lowest frond on each trunk is the oldest. As the tree grows taller, these lower fronds will gradually change color and eventually shed. This natural process is more noticeable early in the season as the palm adjusts from Florida’s warm climate to our cooler environment.
We recommend allowing the Adonidia to shed its fronds naturally rather than trimming them.
